We all want to go out and change the world.
I recall one of my early mentors told me, “If you want to go change the world, why don’t you start by making your bed first.”
At the time I was broke and trying to get out of the rat race. I had these big goals of helping thousands of people that I would talk about, but behind closed doors I was negative $70K in credit card debt.
I wanted make a difference and change the world. Like many of us, “Warriors,” who are driven and have an innate desire to leave a legacy, we want to have major impact and add massive value to the market place.
In order to do this I figured out early on that I needed to be in the right state. Mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I realized there were things I would do that would deplete me and leave me with little energy to take action.
Then there were things I would do that would fill my tank and make things that would otherwise seem exhausting, become effortless.
Some of the things that fill my tank are:
– Morning gratitude ritual
– Morning prayer, meditation
– Workout, exercise
– Listen to personal development
– Watch inspiring video
– Read a great book
– Engage in meaningful conversations
– Drink lots of water
– Eat 70% live foods
– Be in nature
These are just a few. What are the things that fill your tank? I would highly suggest to identify them, write them down and practice them daily. One that I incorporated after my mentor checked me years ago is making my bed first thing in the morning. That one little accomplishment sets the tone for the day to build on one success to another.
